Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE is gearing up to make a full-frontal comeback to India with a portfolio of 10 4G VoLTE smartphones as soon as November. ZTE told PCMag India that it plans to return to the Indian market this year and will bring out India-centric products under PM Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' initiative. In addition, ZTE will also introduce a new OS, made especially for the Indian market. “We are already focusing towards make in India and soon we will be announcing plans on make in India,” Sachin Batra, Chief Marketing Officer of ZTE in India. “We are already working on some software technology, a new OS, which will also announce,” he added. And it's not only smartphones. ZTE is planning to launch a wide array of devices including wearables and smart home products. “We would be available in all price segments starting from Rs 5,999 going up to Rs 39,999,” Batra told PCMag India. ZTE will also announce a tie-up with Reliance Jio offering attractive data plans. The company also plans to launch its premium Axon series of smartphones along with the mid-range Blade series. ZTE also happens to be Reliance Jio's smartphone maker of choice. The Lyf smartphones are made by ZTE and they are gaining good presence in the market. But the phones that are going to launch in the coming months are going to be completely different from the Lyf phones, according to PCMag. ZTE is gunning for the Diwali season to launch its new phones and later on, the company will partner up with local content providers and integrate them with their devices.
