Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor The Mi 5s will make use of Qualcomm's SenseID feature embedded in their chipsets. Instead of embedding it inside a physical button, the sensor will be kept underneath the display. With the ultrasonic sensor, the Mi 5s can also scan fingers that are oily or sweaty. Force Touch One of iPhone's flagship feature is finally making its way out of Apple's stable. The Force Touch feature, as teased by Xiaomi, is expected to work similarly to Apple's 3D Touch. The phone can differentiate between a soft touch, a regular touch and a touch and hold. A hard touch will open additional options, like for the camera app, a hard press will give options to directly go into selfie mode or make manual adjustments. Dual Cameras Xiaomi did make a dual-camera phone before in the name of Redmi Pro and it's about to repeat the feat with the Mi 5s. The teasers on Weibo show the cameras are of the same size and shape and sit vertically, one on top of another. There's still no chatter as how the dual cameras function. It may have one color lens and one monochrome lens like the Huawei P9, or use one lens as a depth sensor which is what we see on the Redmi Pro. Qualcomm recently announced its 'Clear Sight' technology for low light photography and we might just see it coming to the Mi 5s. Hardware Specs Based on benchmark leaks, the Mi 5s is likely to sport a 5.15-inch full HD display with force touch technology. It would be powered by a Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. The phone is likely to launch in multiple variants, with the most expensive one having an internal storage of 256GB. As for the camera, the Mi 5s may come with a 16-megapixel dual-lens camera with an aperture of f/1.9 along phase-detection autofocus and 4-axis OIS. It will all be powered by a 3,490mAh battery. There will also be a USB-Type C port. The phone is expected to run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top.
