Samsung is said to be developing its second-generation Galaxy TabPro S2 with Windows 10, eight months after launching the original. Sources say the device could be available in four different variations, some of which will have LTE connectivity.
The Galaxy TabPro S is Samsung’s answer to the Microsoft Surface. It’s a tablet powered by Windows 10 that transforms into an ultraportable notebook when you need to get real work done on the go, and it’s widely regarded as one of the best 2-in-1s.
We reviewed the device back in April and found it to be a terrific little machine with decent performance, good battery life, and a stellar keyboard. According to SamMobile, its successor will deliver much of the same.
“The Galaxy TabPro S2 could sport a 12-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2160×144 pixels, similar to its predecessor, and the latest Intel Core M series processor,” reads the report. There are said to be four models: SM-W728, SM-W727, SM-W723, and SM-W720.
It’s not clear if all four models will be available in every market, or what kind of hardware configuration each one will offer. However, it is claimed some will boast LTE connectivity, allowing users to get online when away from a Wi-Fi hotspot.
It’s not yet clear when the Galaxy TabPro S2 will make its debut, but Samsung will likely be aiming to make the device available when the original TabPro S celebrates its first birthday. In the meantime, we can look forward to more leaks like these.
