Both the Gear Sport and Gear IconX (2018) will be sold online and in stores nationwide starting on Friday, October 27. Multiple retailers plan to begin taking pre-orders tomorrow. With the holidays right around the corner, Samsung is pushing wearable technology since people are more inclined to focus on their health.

Samsung’s smartwatch and cord-free earbuds debuted alongside the Gear Fit2 Pro at IFA 2017 in August. The Galaxy Note 8 was already official, so the company brought a bunch of health-based products to the trade show. None of the devices, however, are actually entirely new. Each improves upon an existing model.
The Gear S3 Sport is a Gear S3 for those with an active lifestyle. As for the Gear Fit2 Pro, it’s just a Gear Fit2 with enhanced swim and heart-rate monitoring capabilities. And the Gear IconX (2018) just features longer battery life and comes in more colors. They’re the devices you already know about but with some minor-yet-useful improvements.
Neither the smartwatch nor the earbuds are cheap. The Gear Sport is priced at $299, and the Gear IconX (2018) costs $199. Fortunately you don’t have to own a Samsung-made phone to use them. They’re compatible with Android and iOS devices.
You’ll find the Gear Sport and Gear IconX (2018) sold by Samsung, Amazon, Best Buy, U.S. Cellular, and Sprint.
