Since April, a certain set of gamers have been complaining about frame rate stuttering and slow system performance after installing the Windows 10 Creators Update to their gaming PCs. Despite following the usual steps of reinstalling drivers, and disabling Xbox Game DVR, the issues still persisted over the past five or so months. Well, months later, a post in the Microsoft Answers forum about this very issue has gathered up tons of comments, and the company has finally come out and acknowledged the problems, saying a fix will be coming soon. In the post, Microsoft Engineer, Paul Aaron, acknowledged the issue and thanked those who submitted feedback to the Feedback Hub. He revealed a fix has been deployed to a Fast Ring build: Thanks to all of you who provided feedback and submitted traces via the Feedback app. We’ve been reviewing the traces and have identified an issue that we believe is the cause of stuttering in some of the cases that you’ve reported. We have a fix in the Windows Insider build that flighted to the “Fast” ring this week (build 16273 and above). If you are already an Insider please test it with any app or game you’re having this problem with and let us know how it goes. Since the fix is linked to an Insider Build (released three weeks ago) it is not exactly the ideal way to resolve the issue. At the moment, gamers would need to enroll in the Windows Insider Program, and download sometimes unstable test builds to test the solution to the problem. Microsoft is still continuing to investigate the problem, and since the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is lurking, it could also be expected for Microsoft to bundle the fix in with a wider cumulative update, or the featured update itself.
