It is the time to be jolly especially if you are still playing Pokémon Go. After announcing the launch of new baby Pokémon from second generation, Niantic Labs announced a special treat for Pokémon Go players this weekend.
Beginning 25 December and going on till 3 January, your first spin of a PokeStops will offer you a single-use egg incubator along with other usual items. This is great news since hatching eggs can take time and not having a lot incubators can slow down the process.
It is also good considering the last update, as all the new baby Pokémon were only available through eggs, so more incubators means more chances of hatching the new Pokémons which include Pichu, Igglybuff, Magby, Elekid, Togepi, Cleffa and Smoochum.
The company also announced that from 30 December through 8 January, players will get to see higher spawn rate of Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Squirtle, Blastoise and Wartortle. So in case you haven’t been able to evolve the starter Pokémon, now is your chance. In the same period, Lure Modules will last for an hour rather than 30 minutes. In case you haven’t caught the special holiday Pikachu wearing a Santa hat, you might get a chance now as the spawn rate of the limited edition Pokémon has also been increased.
Another surprise, that Niantic didn’t announce, was the addition of limited edition Holiday Boxes in the store. We can’t confirm the time period, but if you open the Shop section in Pokémon Go, then you will see three gift boxes that can be brought for 250, 550 and 1500 coins.
Each box offers some items. The most affordable ‘Special Box’ offers 10 great balls and two single use egg incubators, the ‘Great Box’ offers 20 great balls, two incense and four single use egg incubators and lastly the ‘Ultra Box’ gives 25 incense, six single use egg incubators and 20 ultra balls.
So start catching as the special additions will last a couple of weeks.
