Motorola launched the Moto Z series this year which was an interesting take on the whole modular smartphone category. It also replaced the Moto X as the flagship smartphone for 2016, something which the ‘X’ did for the past two years.
Back in June, the Lenovo owned company clarified that the X series will not be discontinued, is alive and well. We didn’t see a Moto X this year, however there is a chance that it might launch next year. A couple of leaked images show a new Moto device which could be a successor to the Moto X Style.
From the pictures, you can see that the smartphone gets the round Moto 360 like dial-camera at the back which made its debut on the Moto Z, Z Force and Z Play. It doesn’t seem to have the connectors for the Moto Mods, so don’t expect it to be a modular smartphone. It does however have a metal finish at the back similar to the recently launched Moto M. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the front and judging by the pictures it could be a 5.5-5.7 inch device.
There is no other info on the device apart from the pictures, but we expect some more info to leak before the smartphone goes official.
Moto is expected to launch the new Moto M series in India this month.
