And now that the final release and the new Pixel smartphones are out, it’s high time that those promises made by smartphone manufacturers start pouring in. And with this, the waiting game for official updates begins. Unlike last year’s Marshmallow update, Google did open up a public beta program and so anyone could sign up and speed up the process reporting bugs. And this seems to have worked out well with an earlier release, even though there a few bits that were missing. Meanwhile, owners of non-Nexus devices can begin to prepare for the long hibernation and countless search queries for their smartphone’s software update news and availability. It’s been two months now since Google released the final version of Android 7.0 Nougat. So lets take a look at what each smartphone brand has promised so far. LG (Updated) LG’s current G5 flagship will most certainly be one of those devices that gets the update early. The smartphone was part of LG limited Preview Program so it won’t be too long till the update hits the smartphone. Apart from this, there’s LG V20, that already runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. LG has committed to bring Android 7.0 Nougat to the LG G5, LG G4, LG G3, LG G Stylo, LG V10 and even on recently launched handsets like the LG X Cam, LG X Screen, LG X Power, LG X Max, LG G4 Stylus, and the LG K8. Sony has so far promised to deliver Android Nougat for Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance. As for when the update would arrive, the answer is a giant question mark. HTC HTC has pledged that it will bring Android 7.0 to supported devices in 90 days (or three months). This means that some of HTC’s smartphones will get an update by 20 November provided there are no delays. The new OS is expected to come to the HTC 10, A9, and M9 flagships. Huawei Huawei has not mentioned anything yet, but we are pretty sure that the company will rush to update its P9 camera smartphone by the end of the year. Samsung Samsung for now has only confirmed that Galaxy Note 7 will get an upgrade to Nougat in two to three months. We are pretty sure that Samsung has plans to update the Galaxy S7 edge and the S7 as well, but Samsung has not confirmed any of the details for now. Motorola (Updated) Last but not the least, we have Motorola. Motorola has quite the selection of smartphones out here in India and fortunately their software contains minimal bloat. Motorola just announced the smartphones that will receive Android 7.0 Nougat and there’s plenty of them. The list currently includes, the 4th Gen Moto G, G Plus and G Play, as well as Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid and Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid, and the finally the gigantic Google Nexus 6. The updates for the same are expected to start rolling out by Q4 2016 with the Moto Z and the Moto G receiving them first. OnePlus (Updated) OnePlus clearly has it job sorted. The company so far has just three devices to deal with and this time around it has even pushed out Marshmallow to OnePlus X. As for the OnePlus 3, the company has teased that the Nougat update is set to arrive in a short span of time. This gets a bit complicated as OnePlus is now looking to merge its Hydrogen and OxygenOS into one to deliver faster updates to customers.
