Image result for motorola logo wallpaper We like the Google Pixel for more reasons than one. Even though many may skip on it for its expensive price tag, it is giving manufacturers enough of reasons to pull up their socks. Today, Motorola out of all brands, has announced that it has begun the roll out of its its Android 7.0 Nougat software update for its budget Moto G4 and G4 Plus models. No, this is not the soak test that we have heard of earlier, but the actual update that few smartphone owners have received till date. How rare is the Android 7.0 update? The Nexus 5X and 6P are the only smartphones that have officially received the new update. The LG V20 gets it out of the box, so yes, 7.0 Nougat is a rare sight. So what do the lucky Moto G4 and G4 Plus owners get? Well plenty, and this makes more sense on a Motorola device, since Motorola provides a mostly stock Android interface with minimal customisations. And it is because of this very reason that we should expect Motorola to push out updates first. But hey what about the flagship Moto Z? Android 7.0 Nougat is said to improve the mobile experience by adding new multitasking features, the new notifications system, and data saver along with battery features. There’s Quick switching between apps, the multi-window view and new and improved Doze mode that improves battery life. Notifications can now be replied to from the notifications tray itself and you also get bundled notifications that can be expanded and replied to individually. What is missing is the Google Assistant. While we strongly believe that Google would like to keep Google Assistant integration limited to its Pixel range, Android being open, should actually have the feature on all its smartphones. As of now the new AI search feature is only available via Google’s Allo messaging app.
