Image result for bmw 5 series While BMW did showcase its X2 concept at the Paris Motor Show, it did not have a new production vehicle on display, which was a bit disappointing. But after several teasers, it now seems that BMW wanted all the limelight to itself as it has now announced its all-new BMW 5-Series sedan that will be launched in February of 2017. The BMW 5-Series sedan features a refreshed design and picks up design cues from the larger 7-Series sedans. BMW however tags the 5-Series sedan as a business sedan. The car offers plenty of technical goodies that include steering and lane control even at speeds of up to 210kph. The car is so smart, that it can even help the driver change lanes or stay in the same one. Additionally it can also take evasive action when the car detects that a collision is about to happen. BMW has also included a voice control system that can understand and respond to drivers via a conversation. In short, the new BMW 5-Series sedan is out to make the driver’s driving experience an easy one with minimal effort. In fact, it can even park by itself in the tight spaces at the press of a button. Apple’s CarPlay also does not need to be physically connected to the car. It works wireless and connects to your smartphone automatically. BMW is expected to roll out two versions of the 5-Series sedan. This would include a 2-litre four cylinder engine and a 3.0-litre six cylinder in-line motor. The 2-litre engine produces 252hp with a 0-100 time of 6.2 seconds, while the larger 3.0-litre engine produces 340hp, enough to catapult the car from 0-100kph in 4.8 seconds. OverDrive states that the new BMW 5-Series is expected to arrive in India only after the global February launch.
