While the specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5s have surfaced online through various leaks, the Chinese smartphone maker has now begun to tease the smartphone’s performance as well.
GizmoChina got their hands on an official teaser that reveals the smartphone’s AnTuTu benchmark performance, one that many soon-to-be-owners will use to pit it against current day Android flagships.
With a score of 164,119 on AnTuTu, it looks like Xiaomi could soon be announcing a top-notch smartphone indeed. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the current Android king, managed 114,500 in our tests.
While these numbers do impress when it comes to synthetic benchmarks, they may not necessary translate in a better UX keeping Xiomi’s MIUI software in mind. So while the numbers do impress, we will be able to verify the same once the smartphone reaches our offices for testing (provided Xiaomi brings it to India).
The launch of the Mi 5s is expected to take place on 27 September in China and Xiaomi, from what has been revealed so far, is expected to pack in top of the line hardware. The Mi 5s is expected to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 paired with 6GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Unlike the le eco le pro 3which was launched yesterday, the device is expected to pack in a smaller 5.15-inch display and a 3,490 mAh battery.
