Ola cab is embracing the much-awaited future in India by becoming one of the early birds to gain access to Apple's walled garden. You can now just ask Siri to book you an Ola Cab without even opening the app.
"Technology is at the core of all our solutions aimed at providing enhanced mobility to our customers. Integrating our app with iOS 10 is a step towards redefining customer experience. We are proud to be one of the early adopters of Sirikit and Mapkit in the world and we are confident that customers using Apple devices will benefit from this refreshed experience,” Ola co-founder and CTO Ankit Bhati said in a statement.
Ola added the feature in the latest update of its app for iOS 10 and this was bound to happen ever since Apple announced Siri was open to third-party apps to use its voice-assistant capabilities back at WWDC in June.
For iOS users who don't seem to like Google Maps, Ola has now integrated with Apple’s preloaded Maps app. Now you just have to say, "Hey Siri, get me an Ola cab" and you will be on the way to your destination in no time at all.
For the update to work, you need to be on iOS 10, which Apple released earlier this month alongside the launch of the iPhone 7. Using the new app, you can book any cab - Micro, Mini, Prime and Lux and book them without opening the Ola app. You can also track your ride progress, view ride estimates and trip progress through a notification.
Because of the Apple Maps integration, users can get book a cab directly from the Apple Maps app when searching for their destination. To streamline the experience for iOS users, Ola also released a separate app for Apple Watch.
