BSNL and Vodafone have announced the signing of a 2G intra-circle agreement that allows them to use each other’s assets and network across the country.
The two companies together operate over 2,50,000 towers around the country. The agreement helps both parties by giving Vodafone broader reach in rural areas and BSNL greater reach in urban regions.

This partnering with BSNL will further strengthen the reach of our network especially in the hinterland of the country and surrounding rural areas.”
Mr. Anupam Shrivastava, Chairman & Managing Director, BSNL said, “We continue to expand our network across the country with more sites and sharing infrastructure with other telecom service providers. This partnering with Vodafone will help us make our network coverage better, especially in urban areas, enabling our customers to have a better experience of our services.”
Vodafone began its India operations in 2007 and in that time, has acquired over 199 million subscribers. it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc.
BSNL is a state-owned telecommunications company that was incorporated in 2000. The company has a customer base of around 93 million and has a pan-india presence, barring Mumbai and Delhi.
