In Ukraine, an iPhone 7 approximately costs $850 ($200 more than the price of the iPhone in the US) and a local electronic store decided to give away five of the latest smart phones from Apple to the first five people who change their names to iPhone 7. The man, who now known as iPhone Sim (Sim translates to seven in Ukrainian) only spent $2 to change his name, but didn’t get much support from family and friends. However, there have been no reports of others who adopted a new name. Sim says that he will stick to the new name for now, but may change it back to his original name when he has children. “It was difficult to accept that and hard to believe it’s true. Each person this world is looking for a way to express himself. Why not to do that in this way?” The Associated Press quoted Sim’s sister Tetyana Panina. The news about this name change comes around the same time as the story of a woman in China who made her 20 boyfriends buy her an iPhone 7 each and then sold them all to buy a new home. Apple released its first iPhone in 2007 and iPhone 7 was released on September 7, this year. Reports say that Apple will release an iPhone 8 in 2017 for its tenth anniversary.
