After Apple unveiled the much-anticipated MacBook lineup at its ‘Hello Again’ event in Cupertino, the tech giant has now hiked the price of its MacBook in India. Now, if you wish to buy a 12-inch MacBook, be prepared to shell Rs 6,000 extra as the current price stands at Rs 112,900. And if you want to take faster processor variant of MacBook home, then you have to spend Rs 10,000 extra as it is now selling for Rs 139,900.
What’s more saddening for Apple fans in India is that the company hasn’t increased the prices on the US website. Also, it is worth noting that it was in October only that Apple had quietly hiked prices across the entire Mac lineup.
This news comes at a time when Apple fans are sad about the pricing of MacBook Pro lineup in India. The price of basic 13-inch model without the Touch Bar starts at Rs 129,900 while the top of the line MacBook Pro 15-inch model sharply rises to Rs 205,900.
While the 13-inch Macbook Pro is 23 per cent smaller in volume and weighs half a pound less than the previous version, the 15-inch Pro is just 15.5 mm thin, 14 per cent thinner and 20 per cent smaller in volume than the previous variant and weighs just 4 pounds. And that makes the new MacBooks thinner than even the MacBook air.
The new MacBook Pro comes with an all new ForceTouch track pad which is also two times larger and comes with a capacitive glass surface and its own Taptic engine. On the other hand, the keyboard equipped with a new Butterfly mechanism. And if you think that the Function keys still retain their place, Apple has now replaced them with a Touch Bar that also responds to gesture.
