The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 was unveiled in China on 25 October. The svelte design mated with top-of-the-line hardware made for an appealing device. The device didn’t come cheap, but it did offer a flexible OLED display with 3D curved glass on the front and back for the price. Now, however, PhoneRadar spotted a new variant of the Mi Note 2 on Chinese telecom equipment certification site, TENAA. This variant of the device apparently packs in the same hardware: A Snapdragon 821 with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, a 5.7-inch OLED display (Full HD) and up to 128GB of storage. The camera units are a 23MP Sony IMX318 sensor for the rear and an 8MP f/2.0 sensor for the front. The difference between this Mi Note 2 and the original Mi Note 2 is that this one apparently uses normal, flat glass on the front and back of the device. This can be compared to the Samsung Galaxy S7 series, which comes in two variants as well (the regular S7 and the S7 Edge). Another difference is that the original Mi Note 2 boasted of a 2K display (2560×1440), vs the Full HD (1920×1080) one on this flat Mi Note 2. The phone is still expected to run MIUI 8 on top of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and apparently comes with the same 4,070mAh battery as on the original Mi Note 2. Pricing details are unknown at this time, but PhoneRadar expects Xiaomi to reveal all on 11 November. The original Mi Note 2 was priced at around Rs 34,500 in China.
